Transitions supports Apprentices as they learn the skills necessary to live, study and work on their own and has a program to address each of these unique goals.
COLLEGE APPRENTICESHIP
Apprentices will attend Transitions and take college courses at Fulton-Montgomery Community College, State University of New York at Cobleskill or The College of Saint Rose. Students will have access to the Transitions Academic Success Center and support with time management, academic organization and executive functioning.
SUMMER IMMERSION EXPERIENCE
The Transitions Summer Immersion Experience is a three-week readiness program with two concentrations: one is for both students in high school and recent graduates who want to go to college and the other is for young adults up to age 27 who are thinking of living on their own with or without roommates. Participants will stay in the Fulton-Montgomery Community College dorms and will receive an immersive introduction to the Transitions curriculum, including readiness experiences for college and career success.
CAREER APPRENTICESHIP
Apprentices will be placed in an internship with a local business while participating in the Transitions program. The Transitions Career and Employment Center will offer Apprentices regular support and training for their personalized career path.
All programs include a day scholar option for Apprentices who do not need residential supports and only want to attend Transitions classes and events during the day.
