Practice in Social Scenarios

Apprentices practice their new social skills through role-playing sessions as well as out-of-course assignments with peers and mentors. Mentors coach the Apprentices in making phone calls, inviting peers to a get-together and handling difficult conversations. Skills are put to use in fun, yet practical, real experiences through dynamic and exciting activities in the rich environment of the Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts and the Adirondack outdoor “classroom.” Guided by their mentors, Apprentices work together to choose, plan and carry out activities and excursions where they get to put what they are learning into practice.
